Import

Import is the action when you bring information into a program.  Both contact and calendar information can be imported.

An import can be done as a single action which is when you essentially take a picture of data as it exists at the moment and then copy that data somewhere else.  If after doing the import you make changes to the data in either location (old or new), it will not match.

A continuous import (sometimes called a Feed) is when you connect two programs and tell one to copy information into the other everytime you make a change.  This is a one way communication from one to another and does not go both ways (not a sync).

My Account and Set Up Wizard Buttons

Add or Create a New Calendar
  1. You can import data starting from either the Set Up Screen, My Account Page or a New/Edit Calendar view. Contacts can only be imported as a single file.
  2. From the Set Up Wizard or My Account Page, select the button for the program where the contacts currently reside.  You will be shown how to make a .csv file to copy that data.
  3.  Calendars can be imported from the Set Up Guide, My Account Page or Create/Edit View of a Calendar.
  4. Select one of two buttons for calendars:  Single Import or Continuous Import.
  5. A single import of a calendar requires that you make a copy of your current calendar as an .ics file.  By clicking the buttons, you will get step by step instructions as to how to do that in the program that you are using.
  6. A continuous import requires the creation of a special URL.  By clicking the buttons for the program you use, you will get step by step instructions as to how to generate that URL.
