FAQs: Technical/Security
Create a Continuous Import from Outlook to PL
You are able to set up PlumLife to automatically receive and display new events which have been entered on a calendar within Outlook.
If you use Outlook at work but want to see your work schedule as a part of PlumLife, use this option to set up a constant feed from Outlook onto a calendar within PlumLife. Or, while you are getting used to PlumLife, continue to use Outlook as your master calendar.
NOTE: Entering an event within Outlook will not give you the extra detail fields that are available within PlumLife to track Sitter, Drivers and to let others know whether they need to attend this appointment or just need an FYI. So, using PlumLife as your master scheduling system has lots of benefits over other calendars.
This option is only available in Outlook 2007 or 2010.

Generating the private URL needed for external calendars
On the MY ACCOUNT page in PlumLife,
- Select the button called Continuous Import.
- Select Microsoft Outlook.
- Choose the PL calendar you wish to feed into, or create a new one.
- PL generates a URL needed by Outlook.
- Select all the text of the URL by right-clicking and selecting Select All.
- Copy the URL text by right-clicking and selecting Copy.
- Open Outlook and click on Calendar in the left navigation-pane.
- Right-click on the calendar you wish to feed into PL and mouse over Publish to Internet (2007) or Share (2010), then click Publish to WebDAV.
- Paste the URL into the Location field and adjust any settings you wish such as Time-range or the Free/Busy or Full Details.
- Click OK and the import will begin.
Depending on how many events your calendar has, it may take some time for all events to complete the import into PlumLife. Please allow roughly 10 minutes for every 50 events that need to be imported.
